Both Angus Cloud’s fans and the cast of Euphoria were surprised by his sudden passing. Let’s take a look back at Cloud’s ascent to stardom and how, despite having no acting experience, he was cast in one of Euphoria in the wake of his untimely demise.

In a 2019 interview with GQ, Angus Cloud, an Oakland, California resident, shared his unexpected journey into the world of acting. Cloud was walking down a street in New York City when he was approached by a casting company representative who asked him to audition for a new TV series, which later turned out to be Euphoria.

At first, Cloud was skeptical and thought it might be a scam, but he eventually decided to give it a shot. He went in to read for the role, making some personal adjustments to the lines to make it sound more authentic to himself.

The audition went well, and he was called back to read again with the pilot’s director, Augustine Frizzell. This second reading proved to be pivotal, as it led to him getting the role in the show’s pilot.

Despite having no prior acting experience, Cloud was confident in being himself and not trying to be someone else on the screen. He had attended the Oakland School for the Arts, focusing on technical theater, which provided him with some exposure to the world of performance.

After the pilot was successful, Euphoria was picked up for a series, and Cloud moved to Los Angeles for the eight-month shoot. Initially facing challenges in finding accommodation due to lack of credit and skepticism about his acting background, Cloud eventually secured a place of his own.

Working on Euphoria alongside big stars like Zendaya was a surreal experience for Cloud, who sometimes questioned why he was chosen for the role. Nevertheless, he continued to hone his acting skills and appeared in other projects like films and music videos.

Despite finding acting mentally challenging, Cloud found it to be a rewarding experience and continued to pursue his acting career. Euphoria’s success led to its renewal for a second season, with a third season scheduled for 2025. In the meantime, Cloud appeared in other onscreen projects and music videos.
