Jimmy Butler named the Larry Bird Eastern Conference MVP

After beating the Celtics at the TD Garden in a blowout Game 7 win.

For his contributions in the series, he was named the Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP by the NBA.

Jimmy Butler vowed to be better after falling to the Boston Celtics in Game 7 on their own court last season.

Butler is the award's second winner, following Jayson Tatum last year.

Butler averaged 24.7 points per game on 42.0% shooting, including 34.8% from behind the three-point line.

Butler's hesitancy was gone heading into the must-win game for Miami Heat.

He scored six points in the first quarter and attacked Boston's defence relentlessly.

Unlike Miami's players, the Boston Celtics' superstars collapsed under the weight of pressure and expectation.
