Roger Federer announces his retirement

The Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer has announced his retirement from professional tennis.

Federer announced this via a video message. He said that his body's "message to me lately has been clear."

Federer has won 20 Grand Slam singles titles, including eight at Wimbledon.

However, he also stated "but just not in Grand Slams or on the tour."

Rodger Federer has played 1,500 matches over 24 years in total.

Federer's 20 Grand Slam titles rank third that are only behind his rivals Nadal (22) & Djokovic (21).
